Police Officer Suspended - Fraud, Mischief, Obstruct Police

Sergeant Michael Allard, a 29 year member, was arrested today and charged by Guelph Police Service after a joint investigation with Waterloo Regional Police Service.
The investigation alleges that Sergeant Allard misrepresented information relating to a single motor vehicle collision which occurred in February, 2015 in Kitchener. Sergeant Allard was off duty at the time of the incident.
The Service is committed to public accountability and values the communitys trust and confidence, said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. We want to assure our residents that this matter has been thoroughly investigated and we will continue to work with our partner agencies in the criminal justice system for a timely resolution.
Sergeant Allard will make his first appearance on June 30, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kitchener.
This incident is also being investigated by the Waterloo Regional Police Service Professional Standards Branch.
