24 Year Old Caught With Cocaine And Loaded Semi-Automatic Handgun - Name Released

The pedestrian was not located upon the officer's arrival. A vehicle appeared to be broken down in the immediate vicinity. The officer then observed a male matching the description of the reported pedestrian walking towards the vehicle, crossing 6 lanes of live traffic with a gasoline container.
Upon further investigation, the officer seized a loaded semi-automatic handgun and a small amount of cocaine.
As a result of the police investigation, 24-year-old, Magan Mohamed ABDI, of London has been charged with the following offences pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
CC 95(a) Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
CC 91(1) Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
CC 88 Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
CC 86(2) Breach of Firearms Regulation-Store firearm or restricted weapon
CC 145(3) Fail to Comply with Recognizance
CC 108(1)(b) Poss of a Firearm knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With
CDSA 4(1) Poss of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
HTA 1(1) Pedestrian using controlled-access highway
The accused was held in custody and appeared for a Bail Hearing in a London court on October 12, 2017.
