Upon further examination, the officer learned that an arrest warrant existed for the registered owner of the licence plates attached to the vehicle. It was later determined that the vehicle had been reported as stolen to the London Police.
As a result of this police investigation, 33-year-old Scott James PRESTON, of Mt. Brydges is charged with the following offences pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):
CC 351(1) Possession Break In Instruments
CC 145(3) Fail to Comply with Recognizance
CC 450(b) Possessing Counterfeit Money - have in custody
CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada
CDSA 4(1) Poss of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
CDSA 5(1) Traffic in Schedule I substance - x 2
The accused was held in custody pending a Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court appearance on October 29, 2017 at London Court.
