World AIDS Day Vigil
Everyone is invited to attend the Stratford World AIDS Day Vigil being held on Thursday, November 30, from 7-830pm at the Community of Christ church at 226 Forman Avenue in Stratford. This event is held annually and is supported by the Regional HIV/AIDS Connection.
Coffee House and Red Scarf Day
To also help mark the day, the Perth District Health Unit, Optimism Place and revel are partnering to host a coffee house in Stratford on Thursday, November 30, from 2Ė5 p.m., at revel, 37 Market Place in Stratford. Everyone is invited to the event, which will feature music by local artists Sarah Skinner, Janna Leduc and Emma Rouse. If you have a red scarf, wear it to the events on the 30th or find one hanging around Stratford on December 1 to help raise awareness for World Aids Day.
ďThis is an opportunity to show support for those living with HIV or AIDS and to raise awareness that HIV is not gone,Ē says Jane DeBlock, Public Health Nurse at the Perth District Health Unit. ďThere are still new infections all over the world in every demographic.Ē
