During the weeks of December 19, 2017, to January 1, 2018 there were 152 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were twenty six motor vehicle collisions, seven were animal related.
There were three domestic dispute calls for service, and one domestic dispute resulting in criminal code charges.
Domestic Assault Charges
On Sunday December 24, 2017 at approximately 7:10 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Jesse Kisters and Constable Andrew Wierzbicki responded to a domestic dispute in Pikwakanagan Ontario. As a result of police investigation, a 39 yr. old male from Pikwakanagan was arrested and charged with Assault x 3, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday February 14, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Collisions
On Saturday December 23, 2017 at approximately 8:08 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Neil Gonzalez responded to a single vehicle collision involving a moose on Highway 60, Algonquin Provincial Park. The driver of a sport utility vehicle (SUV) had struck a moose. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle received extensive damages and was towed.
On Sunday December 24, 2017 at approximately 6:25 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 28, Brudenell, Lyndoch and RaglanTwp. As a result of police investigation 22 yr. old Christopher DEMAINE of Laxton, Digby, and Longford Twp. has been charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The involved parties were taken to hospital by Renfrew County Ambulance with minor injuries. The vehicle was towed.
On Sunday December 31, 2017 at approximately 10:28 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Neil Gonzalez and Constable Troy Halloran responded to a single vehicle collision on Simpson Pit Road, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. A pickup truck had struck a hydro pole. The driver was transported by Renfrew County Ambulance to hospital with minor injuries. The vehicle was towed. Hydro One was notified.
On Monday January 1, 2018 at approximately 4:27 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Szczygiel responded to a single vehicle collision on Little Ireland Road, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. A car had slid into the ditch. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was towed,
The Killaloe OPP reports that several collisions were road and weather related. Please remain cautious, be alert to changing road and weather conditions, and ease your speed.

The Killaloe OPP participated in the Festive RIDE Campaign which commenced on November 24, 2017 and concluded on January 2, 2018. The Killaloe OPP reports the following results:

The Killaloe OPP conducted a call for service comparison check from the dates of December 19, 2016 - January 1, 2017, which resulted in 159 calls for service. Between the dates of December 19, 2017 - January 1, 2018, 152 calls for service were received.
