Man Charged with Assault CK17051041
On Saturday, December 30, 2017 the man became involved in a physical altercation with a member of his family. This occurred at a complex in Wallaceburg. A neighbour intervened in an attempt to stop the fight and was punched in the face. Police were called, but the man had left before officers arrived. No injuries were reported. Attempts to locate him were unsuccessful and therefore, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Yesterday at 4:00 p.m. the 28-year-old Wallaceburg man was located on Walpole Island, arrested and charged with assault. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Failing to Attend Court RM17001976
In November 2017, the man was released from custody for the following offences:
– Fail to Attend Court x 2
– Fraud under $5000 x 10
– Theft and Forgery of Credit Card x 11
He was required to attend court on December 5, 2017, but failed to do so and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
Last night at 8:20 p.m. the 35-year-old Chatham man was located in Chatham, arrested on the warrant for the above mentioned offences and additionally charged with failing to attend to court.
He was transported to CKPS Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
Traffic Enforcement Leads to Charges CK18000239
In December 2017, the man was released from custody for the offence of possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. One of the conditions of his release was to abstain from the consumption and possession of drugs.
Yesterday at approximately 4:00 p.m. an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop in the area of Grand Avenue E. and Thames Street in Chatham. Through investigation the officer learned that the license plates attached to the vehicle the man was driving, did not belong on that vehicle. Further, the driver was unable to produce certain documents for the vehicle and also, drugs were observed by the officer inside the vehicle.
As a result, the 21-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with the following offences under the:
Highway Traffic Act (HTA):
– Use plates not authorized for vehicle
– Fail to notify on becoming a new owner
– Owner – drive no insurance
Criminal Code of Canada (CCC):
– Fail to comply
– Possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000
Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):
– Possession of a controlled substance (Cocaine)
– Possession of a controlled substance (Marihuana)
The man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
