Between November 24, 2017 and January, 02, 2018, Grey County OPP conducted 140 R.I.D.E. programs throughout their jurisdiction resulting in one (1) "Warn" range suspension and five (5) drivers charged in the impaired, over 80 mg, or refusal category.
Although the Festive R.I.D.E. campaign is over for another year, remember that police conduct R.I.D.E. programs throughout the year!
The four contributing factors in fatal collisions on our roadways are as a result of lack of seat belt use, distracted driving, aggressive driving and impaired driving.
If you choose to drink or use drugs - choose not to drive. It's that simple. For those of you who drove sober during the festive holiday season - thank you!
The public is encourage to contact police if they suspect someone is operating a vehicle while impaired. It's everyone's responsibility to keep all road users safe.
