OBC Starts Petition To Spend $2.1 Million To Keep OPP Out Of Wingham - Names To Be Released

It should be noted that if Wingham amalgamates with the OPP, all our current officers will still be in Wingham doing what they do, just better equipped, computers in cruisers, and backed up. The OPP will also send in undercover drug squad(s) to deal with our epic drug problem in Wingham (specifically Josephine Street) that currently goes completely ignored by the Wingham Police (I think we all know why).
There is clearly something rotten when the OBC wants to spend millions of dollars to keep the OPP away. The estimated savings for Wingham taxpayers in the first 10 years if we switch to OPP is at least $2.1 million.
Not only does the OBC want to spend $2.1 million to keep the OPP away, they are also paying to keep all the OPPs technology and career opportunities away from our Wingham Officers. The OPP would also do foot and bike patrols on Josephine street, and they would actually do foot patrols! This would almost instantly shut down the drug traffic on Josephine St. especially if combined with an ALPR equipped cruiser.
Feel free to sign the petition at one of the Old Boys Club businesses in Wingham, but shame on you for even attending those places in the first place. WFP looks forward to posting all the names on the OBC petitions once they are presented to council. Those that sign the petition may even be worthy of a Hall Of Shame listing.
