Stolen Vehicle Torched After Used In ATM Smash And Grab

A very short time after the stolen vehicle was found on fire behind a business off of 20 th Street East. The suspects had removed the ATM machine and appear then to have set the vehicle ablaze. The Owen Sound Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire before it had the opportunity to spread and cause damage to the structures close by. The vehicle had been stolen earlier in the morning from the driveway of a residence on the West side of Owen Sound.
The Owen Sound Police Forensic Identification Unit attended both scenes. At this time it has not been determined how much money was in the ATM machine when it was stolen. Police continue to investigate; no further information or details with regards to this crime are currently available.
