Shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 Huron OPP officers were called to attend a residence located on Summerhill Road to prevent a possible impaired driver leaving the residence. Prior to police arrival police learned a guest at the residence had been consuming alcohol to the point she had become impaired. The guest attempted to drive away from the residence however some of her friends tried to prevent her from leaving by blocking in her vehicle.
The young driver entered into her vehicle and tried to go mobile however she struck one of the vehicles that were blocking her in. A Huron OPP officer arrived on scene shortly thereafter and located the female inside her vehicle. Some observations were made of the driver and it was clear to the investigating officer the female's ability to drive a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. As a result she was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving.
She was later transported to the Kincardine OPP Detachment for breath tests where she provided two samples of her breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician; both of her samples registered over the legal limit.
As a result, 18-year-old Alexia WILSON from London has been charged with the following offences: Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Person Under 19 Years of Age Consuming Liquor.
She was later released from custody with an upcoming court appearance scheduled for March 5, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
