Members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to Perth Line 19 in the Municipality of West Perth following a single vehicle snowmobile collision. Through investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
As a result, twenty-seven-year old Stephen KLOMP of the City of London was arrested and charged with Over 80, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. His licence was suspended and the vehicle was towed.
The driver was released on a Promise to Appear, and will appear in court on a later date. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries sustained during the collision.
The Perth County OPP and local area snowmobile clubs are reminding riders that impaired driving will not be tolerated. Operating any motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs poses serious and unnecessary risks to all.
