21 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested After Collision With Railroad Track Warning Light - Name Released

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) - On February 11, 2018 at approximately 2:30 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision at County Road 124 near Township Road 1, Township of Guelph-Eramosa.
An officer located the driver and vehicle which had left the highway and had collided with a railroad tracks warning light wig-wag.
While speaking with the driver, officers formed the belief that he was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing.
21-year-old Joshua HOLMES of St. George has been charged with Care or Control while Impaired, Care or Control over 80, Open Liquor, Careless Driving and Operating an Unsafe Motor Vehicle. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on March 6, 2018.
