24 Year Old From Goderich Facing Drunk Driving Charge - Terrence HIGGS

At approximately 10:18 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call about a collision near the intersection of Elgin Avenue East and Stanley Street in Goderich. Upon arrival a Huron OPP officer observed the driver of a Jeep Wrangler had left the roadway and collided with a tree.
The male driver was not injured in the crash however upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver to be displaying several signs that he was impaired by alcohol. Consequently the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The driver ultimately refused to provide breath samples to the Intoxilizer Technician.
As a result, 24-year-old Terrence HIGGS from Goderich has been charged with Impaired Driving, Refuse to Provide Breath Sample and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for May 7, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. His vehicle was towed from the scene and has been impounded for the week. In addition, his driver's licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
