Drunk Driver Repeatedly Rams Cruiser - Vanessa SMITH Facing Numerous Charges

Officers located the vehicle at a gas station in the Exeter Road and Wellington Road area, City of London. As officers approached the vehicle to speak with the driver, the operator reversed the vehicle, nearly striking the officer and crashing into a gas pump. The vehicle then fled southbound on Wellington Road.
Moments later, officers located the vehicle parked at a commercial plaza on Wellington Road and Roxburgh Road. The driver then used the vehicle to repeatedly strike the police cruiser. The operator fled on foot and was arrested a short distance from the scene.
After further examination, police determined that the driver was impaired by drugs and operating a stolen motor vehicle. No one was injured as a result of this event.
As a result of the police investigation, 30-year-old, Vanessa SMITH, of Chatham-Kent, Ontario has been charged with the following offences pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):
Assault with A Weapon
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle x 2
Driving While Ability Impaired - motor vehicle (Alcohol and Drug)
Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge
Fail to Comply with Recognizance
Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
Obstruct Peace Officer
Possession Break In Instruments
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
Public Mischief
Possession of a Schedule I Substance
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
