Officer Avoids Head On Collision With Drunk Driver - Robert MELVILLE Arrested

The officer observed a vehicle driven in a dangerous manner and nearly colliding head-on with the marked police cruiser. The officer initiated a traffic stop. The officer determined that the 42-year-old, male, driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to a police station for further testing.
As a result of the police investigation, Robert MELVILLE, of Middlesex Centre, Ontario has been charged with Driving While Ability Impaired, Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CC). The accused was also charged with Driving a Motor Vehicle with open Container of Liquor, pursuant to the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
The accused is scheduled to appear in a London court room on May 30, 2018 to answer to the charges.
