25 Year Old From Goderich Arrested For Drug Driving - Name Released

On Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 4:48 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information from a concerned citizen about a compact vehicle that was travelling westbound on Huron Road in an erratic manner.
A few minutes later a Huron OPP officer was able to locate the suspect vehicle and the driver at a public parking lot at the east end of Goderich. Upon speaking with the male driver the investigating officer immediately detected the odour of marihuana coming from inside the vehicle. Additionally, the investigating officer noted the driver was displaying several signs that he was impaired by a drug. As a result he was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further examination.
He was examined by a Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE) and it was determined the driver was impaired by a drug.
As a result, 25-year-old Mohit PAHILAJANI from Goderich has been charged with Driving While Impaired by a Drug. He has been released from custody with a court date scheduled for May 14, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
His licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
