16 Year Old Biker Hits SUV Injuring Child

OPP members along with County of Brant Fire and County of Brant Ambulance service attended the scene and located the collision. Police found that a 16-year-old had been operating an off road motorcycle and struck a SUV while crossing Highway 5.
The operator of the off road motorcycle was uninjured as was the driver of the SUV. A child who was a passenger in the SUV suffered minor injuries as a result of this incident.
The 16-year-old operator of the off road motorcycle who cannot be named under authority of the youth criminal justice act has been charged with careless driving and failing to have the proper drivers licence to operate a motorcycle, both contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
The OPP wants to remind the public that off road motorcycles are only allowed to be operated on private property with permission of the land owner while all proper safety equipment is in use.
