Upon interacting with one of the males officers discovered a large hunting knife on the male. Subsequent investigation revealed that male was in possession of the knife for a dangerous purpose.
Jacob Chambers, 18, of Trenton is charged with Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code.
The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on June 14.
MALE ARRESTED AFTER ASSAULTING GROUP HOME STAFF
(QUINTE WEST) - On Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 8:30 pm officers of the Quinte West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a male client at a group home in Quinte West had assaulted two workers.
Officers attended the scene and subsequent investigation revealed that the male had assaulted and intimidated the workers.
Alvin Kootook, 20, of Quinte West is charged with:
Two counts of Assault, Section 266 of Criminal Code
Two counts of Intimidation of Persons, Section 423(1)(a) of Criminal Code
Failing to Comply with Recognizance, Section 145(3) of Criminal Code
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 7.
IMPAIRED DRIVER STRIKES POLE ON MOTORCYCLE
(QUINTE WEST) - On Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:30 pm officers of the Quinte West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a motorcycle had struck a pole outside of a residence on Mill Street in Frankford. The driver of the motorcycle was reported to have been picked up after the collision and fled from the scene.
Officers attended the scene and located a wallet belonging to the driver on the front lawn of the residence where the collision had occurred. The driver of the motorcycle was located shortly after by officers with minor injuries. He was subsequently arrested and charged.

Driving while ability impaired - Alcohol, Section 253(1)(a) of Criminal Code
Driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in blood, Section 253(1)(b) of Criminal Code
Driving while disqualified, Section 259(4) of Criminal Code
Fail to remain, Section 200(1)(a) of Highway Traffic Act
Fail to report accident, Section 199(1) of Highway Traffic Act
Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, Section 2(1)(a) of Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
The accused was released from custody on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 31.
SPEEDING LEADS TO ARREST
(QUINTE WEST) - On Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3:30 am an officer of the Quinte West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle speeding on Telephone Road.
The officer subsequently stopped the vehicle and found the driver to breaching numerous conditions of a court order including a curfew.
Benjamin Jones, 39, of Roslin is charged with three counts of failing to comply with a Recognizance contrary to Section 145(3) of the Criminal Code. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 7.
