Drunk Driver From Goderich Arrested In Bayfield - Damien PHELAN

On May 20, 2018 at approximately 2:25 a.m. a Huron OPP officer observed a minivan travelling on Main Street North in an erratic manner spinning his tires. A traffic stop was conducted and upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer observed the driver to be displaying some signs of impairment.
He was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the Exeter OPP detachment for breath tests. He subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit.
Damien PHELAN, 26 years of age, from Goderich has been charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Stunt Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for June 18, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. In addition, his driver's licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
