Stolen Pickup From Blyth Recovered In Clinton - Matthew BOUVIER Arrested

Shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 Huron OPP officers received information that the stolen pickup truck was parked in a parking lot on Wellington Street in Clinton. Upon arrival officers were informed by nearby residents that the driver of the stolen vehicle was observed walking away from the truck toward a nearby residence.
Police officers conducted foot patrols of the area and a few minutes later two males were observed walking toward the stolen motor vehicle. As the males got closer, police recognized one of the males as being wanted on outstanding warrants. A brief foot chase took place which involved a nearby resident helping out in the arrest of the fleeing subject.
Further investigation connected the wanted male to the stolen vehicle and a subsequent search of the stolen vehicle turned up a homemade weapon inside the truck.
Matthew BOUVIER, 26 years of age from Huron East has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. He remains in custody with a court date scheduled for July 3, 2018.
