Two Arrested For Running From Police - William QUINN & Shalan LIGI

Police were first made aware of the couple during the morning hours on Thursday, June 28. Starting at 8:17 a.m., police were called to the Big Tub Road, Northern Bruce Peninsula for a (silver) Infinity Q50 sedan, with (yellow) rims and out of country licence plate. The suspect vehicle was speeding up roadway and possibly involved in a motor vehicle collision. The suspect vehicle had left the area before police arrived.
A traffic complaint was reported of a (silver) Infinity sedan speeding, more than twice the posted 80 km/h speed limit, on Highway 6.
At 1:24 p.m. police received another traffic complaint of a (silver) Infinity sedan, with (yellow) rims, speeding southbound on Bruce Road 9 and passing unsafely.
At 1:29 p.m. police located the suspect vehicle on Berford Street in Wiarton and activated emergency lights and siren, the vehicle fled from police. The suspect apprehension pursuit was discontinued due to concern for public safety.
The unoccupied suspect vehicle was located a short time later on North Acre Road, South Bruce Peninsula.
Bruce Peninsula members along with members from Cape Croker Police, Grey County OPP and OPP Emergency Response Team set up containment of the area.
At 4:10 p.m. police arrested a male and female and transported them to Bruce Peninsula OPP detachment.
26-year-old male, William QUINN of Burlington was charged with the following offences:
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle 249(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer 249.1(1) CC
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 354(1)(a) CC
Possession Break In Instruments 351(1) CC
Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine 4(1) CDSA
Driving while under suspension 53(1) Highway Traffic Act
41-year-old female, Shalan LIGI of Burlington was charged with the following offences:
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 354(1)(a) CC
The female accused was release on a Promise to Appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 2, 2018. The male accused was held for a bail hearing on June 29, 2018 at Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
