There were fourteen motor vehicle collisions, eight were animal related.
There were three domestic dispute calls for service, and one domestic dispute resulting in criminal code charges.
Domestic Assault, Threats Charges
On Friday June 29, 2018 at approximately 9:30 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch and Constable John Thurston responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 22 yr. old male from Madawaska Valley Twp. was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault, and Utter Threats, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to appear with a court date of Wednesday July 25, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Disturb The Peace Charges
On Saturday June 30, 2018 at approximately 11:05 pm, members of the Killaloe OPP detachment responded to a disturbance at Bonnechere Provincial Park, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. As a result of police investigation, 23 yr. old Harmeet SINGH of Mississauga was arrested and charged with Mischief, Cause Disturbance, and Resisting Arrest contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear, with a court date of Wednesday August 8, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe.
Trespass to Property Act Charges and Three Day Licence Suspension
On Sunday July 1, 2018 at approximately 6:18 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Miller and Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch responded to a traffic complaint at the Golden Lake Campground and Marina, North Algona Wilberforce Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 35 yr. old female from Ottawa was charged with Engaging in Prohibited Activity on Property contrary to the Trespass to Property Act, and further was issued a three day alcohol drivers licence suspension. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offences Act notice.
On Saturday June 30, 2018 at approximately 1:20 am Whitney OPP Constable Mike Holbrook and Sgt. Mark MacKisoc responded to a Disturb the Peace call on Foymount Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation 22 yr. old Iesha HELSDON of Laurentian Hills was arrested and charged with Mischief, Breach of Probation Order, and Breach of Recognizance Order contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held pending a wash court bail hearing, Ontario Court of Justice.
Mischief to Property
On Tuesday June 26, 2018 at approximately 11:28 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Troy Halloran responded to a property damage call at Madawaska Valley District High School, Madawaska Valley Twp. Suspects poured oil on the school parking lot pavement and then the suspect driver did burnouts in the school parking lot. A school surveillance camera was also damaged. The suspect vehicle is described a black four door pickup truck. This incident remains under investigation.
Collisions
On Tuesday June 26, 2018 at approximately 1:11 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Troy Halloran responded to a two vehicle collision on Palmer Road, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. involving a passenger car and a transport truck. The 51 yr. old male driver of the transport truck from Gatineau was charged with Fail to Yield, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and issued a Provincial Offences Act notice. The driver of the passenger car sustained minor injuries which did not require ambulance. The passenger car was towed.
On Sunday July 1, 2018 at approximately 1:42 pm, Whitney OPP Constable Dan Olejarski and Constable John Thurston responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 60, involving two sport utility vehicles, in Algonquin Provincial Park. The 23 yr. old male driver from Scarborough was charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and issued a Provincial Offence Act notice. The second male driver from Ottawa sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance. Both vehicles were towed.
On Sunday July 1, 2018 at approximately 5:20 pm, Whitney OPP Constable Dan Olejarski responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 60, Algonquin Provincial Park. A sport utility vehicle had struck a guard rail and veered into the ditch. The 25 yr. old driver from North York was charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and issued a Provincial offence Act notice. The vehicle was towed. There were no reported injuries.
Suspended Driving Charges
On Saturday June 30 2018 at approximately 4:33 pm, Killaloe OPP Sgt. Yvan Pelletier conducted a traffic stop on Round Lake Road, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. The male driver of the pickup truck, 31 yr. old Matthew CURNEW of Wasaga Beach was charged with Suspended Driving x 2 contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and issued a summons to appear in court. The vehicle was towed.
On Tuesday June 26, 2018 at approximately 10:33 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Andrew Wierzbicki conducted a traffic stop with an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on Palmer Road, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. The male driver of the ATV, 65 yr. old Albert LANGILLE of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. was charged with Suspended Driving and No Insurance, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and issued a summons to appear in court. The vehicle was towed.
