Over the weekend Bruce Peninsula OPP received 42 traffic complainants including speeding, unsafe passing and distracted driving. Three drivers were charged for stunt driving, more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit. Their driver's licences were suspended for seven days and their vehicles were impounded for seven days. Safety on the roads is the responsibility of every driver.
On June 30, Saturday and July 1, Sunday police received 3 reports of missing children at Sauble Beach. With the help of members from the public, the three children were all located a short time after going missing and were reunited with their parents.
With the high temperatures over the weekend large numbers of people gathered at the many beaches in the area. Police would like to remind people that the consumption of alcohol on a public beach is not permitted and is an offence under the Liquor Licence Act. In addition, alcohol and water activities do not mix, drink responsibly.
