On Saturday, July 14, 2018 at approximately 12:27 a.m. members from the Huron County & Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachments received information about a pickup truck that was travelling eastbound on Amberley Road in an erratic manner. At one point the suspect vehicle pulled over near McDonald and a quick thinking witness managed to take the keys away from the driver.
Perth County OPP officers arrived on scene a few minutes later and spoke with the male driver. Upon speaking with the driver officers noted the male to be displaying several signs of impairment by alcohol. He was promptly arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the Teviotdale OPP Detachment for breath tests. He subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit.
Travis BEISHUIZEN, 23 years of age, from Huron-Kinloss has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for August 13, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
