There were fourteen motor vehicle collisions, four were animal related.
There were three domestic dispute calls for service, and two domestic disputes resulting in criminal code charges.
Domestic Break and Enter Charge
On Saturday July 21 at approximately 1:19 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Mike Recoskie and Constable John Thurston responded to a break and enter at a residence in Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 57 yr. old male from Bonnechere Valley Twp. was arrested and charged with Domestic Break and Enter, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday August 8, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Domestic Threats Charge
On Saturday July 21, 2018 at approximately 11:35 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Kyle Fabian and Constable Jason MacDougall responded to a domestic disturbance at the Riverland Campground, in South Algonquin Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 41 yr. old female from Leamington was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Tuesday August 21, at 8:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Bancroft. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Breach of Probation Charges
On Thursday July 19, at approximately 1:41 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Lapierre began an investigation into breach of probation conditions, in Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 26 yr. old Ryan GAUDIN of Killaloe Hagarty and Richards Twp. was arrested and charged with Breach of Probation x 2 contrary to the Criminal Code for failing to abide by an alcohol condition. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice Pembroke.
Breach of Undertaking Charge
On Monday July 16, 2018 at approximately 2:05 pm, Whitney OPP Constable Mike Holbrook responded o a breach of probation call in North Algona Wilberforce Twp. As a result of police investigation, 86 yr. old Frank FOY of Killaloe Hagarty and Richards Twp. was arrested and charged with Breach of Undertaking Conditions, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.
Breach of Undertaking Charge
On Saturday July 21, 2018 at approximately 11:21 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Jason MacDougall and Constable Julie McPeak responded to a breach of undertaking conditions call on Bonnechere St, East, Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation 57 yr. old Yvon VILLENEUVE was arrested and charged with Breach of Undertaking Conditions, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday September 19, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice Killaloe.
Impaired Charges, Refusal
On Sunday July 22, 2018 at approximately 8:48 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Mike Recoskie and Constable Dan Olejarski responded to a single vehicle roll over collision involving a passenger vehicle, on Highway 60, North Algona Wilberforce Twp. As a result of police investigation, 41 yr. old Jeremy KERR of Kingston was arrested and charged with Fail to Provide Breath Sample, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday September 19, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The vehicle was towed and the licence suspended for 90 days. The accused received minor injuries in the collision.
Impaired Charges, Breach of Recognizance Conditions Charges
On Saturday July 21, 2018 at approximately 4:38 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Julie McPeak conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck for speeding on Highway 60, North Algona Wilberforce Twp. The male driver had been drinking alcohol and failed the roadside alcohol screening device. As a result of police investigation, 27 yr. old Ryan SMITH of North Algona Wilberforce Twp. was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday September 19, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario court of Justice, Killaloe. A 28 yr. old female passenger from Bonnechere Valley Twp. was arrested and charged with Breach of Recognizance Conditions x 6 contrary to the Criminal Code and was released on Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday September 19, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario court of Justice Killaloe. A second 32 yr. old male passenger Bonnechere Valley Twp. was arrested and charged with Breach of Recognizance conditions x 2 and held pending a bail court hearing Ontario court of Justice Pembroke. The names of the passengers have been withheld as the charges are domestic related.
Collision
On Friday July 20, 2018 at approximately 11:27 am, members of the Killaloe OPP detachment responded to two separate traffic related complaints involving an SUV (sport utility vehicle) that was being driven in an erratic manner, on Highway 41, Bonnechere Valley Twp. A short time after receiving the traffic complaints, at 11:45 am, officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 41 involving the vehicle described in the initial traffic complaints. The vehicle lost control, resulting in a roll over collision. The 29 yr. old male driver from Whitewater Twp. was transported to hospital and eventually air lifted to hospital by ORNGE Air with non-life threatening injuries. There were no reported passengers. Highway 41 was closed for approximately 20 minutes. Constable Jason MacDougall is the leading the investigation. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Fraud
On Monday July 16, 2018 Killaloe OPP responded to two separate fraud complaints where monies had been exchanged. At 9:58 am, Constable Ian Morin investigated a western union money order fraud in Madawaska Valley Twp. where the complainant had sent a money order for $450. At 7:40 pm later that day, Constable Troy Halloran investigated a telephone fraud in Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. where the complainant was scammed $3500 from a bank account. These incidents remain under investigation.

Operation Safe Trucking Campaign
The Operation Safe Trucking Campaign which ran from July 15, 2018 to July 22, 2018 has now concluded. This campaign was geared toward the safe operation of Commercial Motor Vehicles and the adherence to the laws and regulations surrounding the operation of these vehicles. The Killaloe OPP detachment reports the following statistics:
34 Highway Traffic charges laid, including 15 speeding charges
Roadside mechanical inspections were completed which resulted in 6 commercial motor vehicles placed out of service.
