OPP Officers Remove Drinking Drivers Over the August Civic Holiday Weekend from Area Roadways

On August 5, 2018 at 11:12 pm officers conducting R.I.D.E. on Balm Beach Road in Balm Beach stopped a vehicle for the purposes of checking for driver sobriety. Upon speaking with the male driver the officer entered into a drinking and driving investigation. This investigation resulted in Karol ZABLOCKI 28 years of Mississauga years being charged with the following offences.
Driving with more than 80 mgs contrary to section 253 (1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit contrary to section 7 (1) (a) of the Highway Traffic Act Of Ontario
His vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and his drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) He was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on August 30, 2018.
On August 5, 2018 at 2:45 am officers headed to a Champlain Road, Penetanguishene address after receiving a report of a vehicle on the front lawn at that location. Prior to arrival, responding officers were alerted that the vehicle had left the scene. Vehicle was located at another Champlain Road address and the male driver was located and spoken to by attending officers. A drinking and driving investigation was commenced resulting in Jordan James ILES 25 years of Tiny Township being charged with -
Care or Control While Impaired (Alcohol) contrary to section 253 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Care or Control Over 80 mgs. contrary to section 253 (1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
His vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and his drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) He was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on August 15, 2018.
On August 4, 2018 at 11:23 pm an officer from detachment was dispatched to the north bound lanes of Highway 400 near Fesserton after concerned motorists had stopped an another north bound vehicle that had been the subject of numerous driving complaints that evening. The responding officer spoke with the male driver and entered into a drinking and driving investigation. As a result of this investigation Jose CAETANO 55 years of Collingwood has been charged with the following driving offences-
Driving While Ability Impaired- motor vehicle (Alcohol) contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
His vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and his drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) He was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on August 30, 2018.
On August 3, 2018 at 6:29 am officers were dispatched to a report of a fail to remain single vehicle crash into a pole in the Town of Penetanguishene. Officers were able to locate a male nearby matching the callers provided descriptors. Officers also located another vehicle on a nearby street that had sustained significant damage from a vehicle matching that of involved vehicle. As a result of this investigation Thomas MACE 53 years of Mississauga has been charged with the following driving offences-
Driving While Ability Impaired- motor vehicle (Alcohol) contrary to section 253 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Care or Control Over 80 mgs.contrary to section 253 (1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Fail to remain contrary to section 200 (1) (a) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario
Consuming liquor in other than licenced premises, residence or private place contrary to section 31 (2) of the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario
Drive motor vehicle not equipped with an approved ignition interlock device while prohibited from doing so contrary to section 41.2 (13) Highway Traffic Act of Ontario
Drive motor vehicle - no licence contrary to section 32 (1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario
His vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and his drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) He was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on September 7, 2018.
