SIU Invokes Mandate After Passenger Falls Off Roof Of Vehicle

Initial investigation resulted in the OPP locating a blue 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche pick-up truck that was driving dangerously while passengers were located atop the roof. As police attempted to stop the vehicle it fled the area. As a result, a passenger was thrown from the roof resulting in serious injury. The suspect was not apprehended as providing medical aid to the injured passenger was of immediate concern.
The OPP continue to investigate this incident and require assistance in identifying the suspect driver. If anyone has any information of this incident, they are asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or 519-222-8477.
Due to the injury to the passenger, the OPP has notified the province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
