24 Year Old From Seaforth Facing Drunk Driving Charge After Collision With Parked Vehicle

Just after 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the restaurant parking lot located on Goderich Street East to speak with a driver that just struck a parked motor vehicle while entering the parking lot.
Upon arrival police identified the driver that collided with the parked vehicle and had an opportunity to speak with him. Upon speaking with the male driver police noted the driver had consumed some alcohol was possibly impaired so a standard field sobriety test was conducted. Upon failing the sobriety tests the driver was arrested for Impaired Driving and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit.
As a result, Jacob MCDOUGALL, 24 years of age, from Seaforth has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for October 1, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. His vehicle will be impounded for a week and his licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
