Police learned that a 27 year old Owen Sound man had arrived at a residence in the area while intoxicated. After visiting for a while with the residents, they advised him they wanted to go to bed and directed the male to leave. The male became irate and proceeded to punch a resident in the ribs. Once outside, the male continued to hang around. When again told to leave, he removed his belt and swung it striking another resident. A neighbour intervened and the male left prior to police arrival.
He was located nearby shortly after by police. Police learned that the male was bound by a condition to abstain from consuming alcoholic beverages. The male was arrested and transported to the police station where he was held for a bail hearing the following day. The male was also bound by other court orders with applicable conditions. The man must now answer to charges of assault with a weapon, assault, breach of Recognizance, breach of OIC Undertaking and breach of Probation. Fortunately the residents were not seriously hurt as they sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
