Passed Out In Moving Vehicle Leads To Impaired Charge

Emergency workers were able to gain access to the vehicle and rouse the driver. After a brief interaction with the male it was determined that his ability operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drug. The male was arrested and taken to a local hospital as a precaution and later transported to an OPP Operation Centre for further testing. Unknown drugs along with drug paraphernalia were also seized from the vehicle.
28-year-old Cody POULIN of Welland has been charged with Driving while Ability Impaired by Drugs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on November 16, 2018 to answer to the charge.
