At approximately 12:41 p.m., Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received information about a possible impaired driver. Upon receiving a description of the suspect vehicle and a direction of travel an OPP officer located the suspect vehicle shortly thereafter travelling eastbound on Amberley Road.
Upon stopping the vehicle and speaking with the male driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been consuming alcohol and was displaying several signs of impairment. As a result the driver was placed under arrest for impaired driving and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit.
