Wingham’s liberation is nearly complete.
For decades those with mobility issues in Wingham have been under virtual house arrest during the winter due to inaccessible pedestrian walkways/sidewalks and neil vincent’s abundant apathy. Past councils have mocked and ridiculed anyone standing up for pedestrian Rights, and have even told the seniors to shovel the sidewalks themselves, even though the town’s sidewalk snowblower drives right past the blocked pathways every day.
Disgraced reeve neil vincent has refused to clear both pedestrian paths on Hanna Bridge forcing those on Bristol Terrace to cross the highway in winter just to get up town.
Future Reeve Bernie Bailey has the power to allow our seniors and anyone with mobility issues to participate and enjoy our community during the winter months. All Bailey has to do is demand town staff maintain our infrastructure (clear sidewalks and trails) and hundreds of Winghamites will be released from virtual house arrest every winter.
