On Thursday, November 8, 2018 at approximately 10:43 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a vehicle travelling westbound at a high rate of speed on Huron Road (Highway 8) near Parr Line. A RADAR device was used to confirm the speed of the vehicle and it captured the speed of the vehicle at a rate of 109 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
Upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. As a result the driver provided a roadside test and registered a fail. Upon further testing at the Huron Detachment his breath tests resulted in readings just below the legal limit. As a result he was served with a three-day driver's licence suspension and his motor vehicle was impounded for three days.
In addition, the driver was ticketed for speeding, fail to provide insurance card and fail to surrender driver's licence.
