At approximately 11:20 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 Huron County OPP officers were dispatched to a property on Zion Road after a property owner came across a vehicle that had been driven off the roadway into the ditch.
Upon arrival the investigating officer located the uninjured driver at the scene along with his heavily damaged vehicle. While speaking with the driver the officer detected the odour of alcohol on the driver and had reason to believe the driver had been consuming some alcohol. As a result, the driver provided a roadside sample of his breath into an approved screening device and his sample registered a fail.
He was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breathalyzer tests, whereupon he provided two samples of his breath that were analyzed to be over the legal limit.
Tyson VAN OSCH, 24 years of age, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for January 7, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
