32 Year Old From Listowel Arrested In Exeter For Drunk Driving

At approximately 8:37 p.m. on November 30, 2018 Huron OPP officers received a report of a possible drunk driver that was in a restaurant parking lot located on Main Street North in Exeter. Officers immediately responded to the scene whereupon they located the suspect driver inside his parked, running vehicle.
While speaking with the driver the investigating officer observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. In addition, the driver was observed to be displaying several signs of obvious impairment. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests.
He subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit.
Matthew ROZENDAL, 32 years of age, from Listowel has been charged with Impaired Operation, Drive Motor Vehicle With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol & Drive Motor Vehicle With Unsealed Container of Alcohol. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for December 20, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Exeter. His vehicle was impounded for a week and his licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days
