24 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested After Brief Foot Chase

This incident started on January 15, 2019 when a Listowel resident reported his 2006 Saturn Vue was stolen from an Elma Street business. The following day members from the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) located the stolen vehicle at a Minto Township property. As observations were being conducted on the vehicle the accused drove off in the stolen vehicle to a residence located in Fordwich.
Officers maintained surveillance of the vehicle and when the driver parked the stolen vehicle officers approached to arrest the male. The male immediately took off running on foot however it wasn't too difficult to find the male as he left fresh tracks in the snow. He was found hiding on the deck of a nearby residence and was taken into custody. Upon arrest police searched the male and found him to be in possession of a tool designed for picking locks.
Justin HORRIGAN, 24 years of age from Fordwich has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Possession of Break-In Instruments and two counts of Fail to Comply with a Recognizance. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 28, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
