Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are investigating two recent cases of fuel theft that have taken place in South Huron. Since February 5th suspects have helped themselves to approximately 170 litres of fuel from the fuel tank located at the Exeter Cemetery on Thames Road.
A little further to the west, a B Line property owner reported over the weekend someone stole approximately 50 litres of fuel from a fuel tank that is located at the property. There was also a second attempt however the fuel tank was shut off this time.
Businesses and farms with large fuel storage should make sure pumps are shut off after-hours and the access to the storage tanks are secured with heavy duty locks. If the location is isolated and unsupervised for long periods of time, consider installing lights and security cameras.
Remember, if you See Something, Say Something! If you see suspicious activity or suspicious persons approaching your property or roaming the area, call the police.
