Large Methamphetamine Bust - 22 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested

At approximately 1:53 p.m. Huron OPP officers responded to a Tipperary Line residence after the home owner reported two suspicious males were in his basement. Upon arrival at the scene police observed one of the male suspects running away from the residence through a plowed field.
While the male was high-tailing it from the scene officers gave chase and while doing so they observed the suspect discarding various items as he fled.
Officers were able to capture the male and take him into custody. Upon collecting the discarded items officers located an estimated $17,800 worth of methamphetamine and offence related property consisting of $1,730 in Canadian currency, electronic devices, and a digital scale.
It was also revealed the male was wanted for a break and enter offence from Huronia West OPP. Upon checking with the homeowner whether the males had committed a break and enter into this home it turned out the males had been given permission to be in the home from another family member.
Brandon MITCHELL, 22 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with Possession of Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine) for the Purposes of Trafficking and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 25, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
