TASER Used In Arrest Of Daniel YORKE

Shortly before 4:00 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received information from a citizen advising that a stolen pickup truck was parked at a parking lot located on Wallace Avenue North in Listowel.
Upon arrival officers located the stolen pickup and also observed a male suspect attempt to enter into the vehicle. As the male was entering into the vehicle an officer approached the suspect and informed him he was under arrest. The suspect resisted arrest, took off running and a short foot pursuit ensued.
Upon attempting to gain control of the accused for the second time he struck an officer and continued to actively resist the arresting officers. A conducted energy weapon was utilized by the arresting officers to ultimately gain control of the accused and he was successfully taken into custody.
Police also learned the accused was also wanted by Guelph Police Service for numerous offences.
Daniel YORKE, 37 years of age, of no fixed address has been charged with the following offences:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
Resist Peace Officer
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He has been released on these charges to a court appearance date of July 15, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Stratford.
He was transferred into custody to Guelph Police Service upon release to face charges with their service.
