29 Year Old Charged After Refusing To Blow Following Collision

Investigation revealed that a sedan was southbound on the Third Line when the driver lost control of the vehicle, struck a culvert and rolled over, coming to rest in the centre of the roadway. The driver left the scene and went home while a witness called police.
Officers located the driver at his residence and while speaking with him determined that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. A breath sample demand was read to the driver however, he refused to comply.
As a result, Michael MCKEON, 29-years-old of Acton has been charged with Fail to Comply With Breath Sample Demand contrary to the Criminal Code, Fail to Remain and No Validation on Plate contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on August 2, 2019.
