This morning at approximately 8:30 a.m. Huron OPP received a traffic complaint of a pickup truck that was hauling a small trailer and a lawn mower that was swerving in and out of the marked lane of traffic on Bluewater Veteran's Highway.
Officers immediately responded and within a few minutes officers located the suspect vehicle stuck on the gravel shoulder of Bluewater Veteran's Highway at Black's Point Road.
Upon speaking with the female driver the investigating officer noted some signs that the driver may have consumed some alcohol. As such the investigating officer demanded the driver provide a sample of her breath into the roadside screening device. The driver complied and her test resulted in a Fail. She was immediately arrested for Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus.
The accused was then transported to the Lucan OPP Detachment where she provided two samples of her breath to the qualified Intoxilizer Technician; both tests were above the legal limit.
Rebecca TURNER, 28 years of age, from Goderich has been charged with Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus, Improper Tires and Insecure Load. She was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for August 19, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. Her vehicle was impounded and her licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
