"Every occupant of a motor vehicle that is not restrained by a seat belt is travelling at the same speed as the vehicle they are seated within. If the vehicle were to become involved in a collision, their bodies will continue at the same rate of speed as the vehicle until they come into contact with an object within the vehicle, or outside the vehicle, usually resulting in serious or fatal injuries."
