On Sunday, September 1, 2019 at approximately 6:40 p.m. Huron OPP members received a tip from a citizen about a vehicle that had been driving around in Huron Park with a possible impaired driver. Shortly thereafter officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle, a pickup truck, on St. Lawrence Avenue near Columbia Drive.
In speaking with the driver the investigating officer detected the odour of alcohol on the driver's breath. A demand for the roadside screening device was made and the driver complied. The test resulted in a fail for the driver. The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP for breath tests. Both of his samples provided to the Intoxilizer Technician were found to be over the legal limit.
Mark ROTHBAUER, 47 years of age, from Exeter has been charged with Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus. He was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for September 26, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Exeter.
