Wingham Stabbing Incident - 23 Year Old Arrested - Name Released

Shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 Huron OPP officers and Huron County Paramedic Services were dispatched to attend the downtown area of Wingham in relation to an adult male that had just been stabbed and was now in need of medical assistance.
It just so happened that officers were in the area and saw the altercation that led up to the stabbing. One officer stayed with the victim and provided first aid while two other officers located and arrested a suspect without incident on Josephine Street.
The male victim was taken to the local hospital where he was treated and released with non-life threatening injuries.
Eric SABOURIN, 23 years of age, from Wingham has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and two counts of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The accused remains in custody with a video court appearance scheduled for September 12, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
