On Sunday, October 20, 2019 at approximately 2:10 a.m. a Huron OPP officer observed a car roll through a stop sign at the intersection of Londesboro Road and London Road. Additionally, after the driver turned onto London Road the vehicle partially entered into the southbound lane of traffic.
A traffic stop was conducted and upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been consuming alcohol. A demand for the roadside screening device was made and the driver complied. The test resulted in a fail for the driver. The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Both samples were analyzed and found to be over the legal limit.
A 17-year-old young person from Central Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus. The accused has been released from custody with a court date scheduled for November 14, 2019 at the Ontario Youth Justice Court - Goderich.
