Driver From Hensall Facing Drunk Driving Charge

A 28-year-old from Hensall has been charged with Impaired Operation - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus after he blew over at a roadside RIDE checkpoint on Saturday night.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. a compact car entered into the RIDE checkpoint that was located at the intersection of Morrison Line and Hurondale Road. The driver was spoken to and a demand was made to the driver to supply a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device. The driver complied with the demand and blew a Fail. He was arrested and subsequently transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment to provide breath samples to an Intoxilizer Technician. He later provided two samples of his breath to the Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples were found to be above the legal limit.
Ryan CONSITT, 28 years of age from Hensall has been charged with Impaired Operation - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 19, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Exeter.
The motor vehicle has been towed and impounded and the driver has received an automatic 90-day driver's licence suspension.
