20 Year Old Facing Impaired By Drug Charge

Officer attended and located the sedan on the side of the highway with one tire separated from the rim. Officers awoke the driver and while speaking with them, formed the opinion that they were impaired by a drug. The driver was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. A Drug Recognition Expert (D.R.E.) officer conducted further testing and concluded that the driver's ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drug.
As a result, Nicolas Claude DUPUIS, 20-years-old of Oakville, has been charged with Impaired Operation and Dangerous Operation contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on February 25, 2020.
