14 Year Old Shot - Teenager Arrested & Charged

Police were contacted shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 21, 2020 when an incident involving a group of young people playing with firearms in a field resulted in one young person being shot. One 14-year-old was injured during the incident, and attended the hospital with minor injuries.
A 15-year-old young person from the Municipality of North Perth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), has been arrested and charged with
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition contrary to Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code.
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, at a later date, to answer to the charges.
