On April 3, 2020 at approximately 7:15 p.m. a Huron OPP officer was fueling up his cruiser when he noticed a couple having difficulty starting a pickup in the fuel bay next to him. Upon checking on the vehicle and while speaking with both parties the officer noted they became quite nervous. Upon checking on the licence plates attached to the vehicle the officer determined the front plate was not the proper plate for the vehicle and the rear plate had actually been reported as stolen.
Both parties were arrested and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Upon searching the vehicle officers located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
