Stolen Vehicle Recovered Two Arrested

On September 22, 2024, at 7:46 a.m., members of the Oneida Nation Police and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Fairgrounds Road in Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, for the report of a traffic complaint.
Officers located the vehicle at which time two occupants fled on foot.
After a short foot pursuit, the pair were taken into custody without further incident.
It was determined the vehicle had previously been reported stolen out of St. Thomas.
As a result, Roland STURGEON, a 26-year-old and Curtis SNAKE, a 27-year-old, both of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, have been charged under the Criminal Code with:
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 in Canada
The accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 31, 2024.
